Election Results - Funding by Levy

On Sunday, August 17th, 2025, the Heath Rural Fire District board counted ballots received from members in response to the question "Do you approve of Heath Rural Fire District changing to mill levy funding?"

Per the Heath RFD bylaws the outcome of the vote is based on acres voting

The results of the vote were:

44,316.509 Acres voting "YES"

18,728.177 Acres voting "NO"

Based on the outcome the HRFD Board will now proceed to set a budget and initiate the process of having Fergus County administer a levy election in the spring of 2026 with funding being effective in the fall of 2027. The board will also be engaged in preparing appropriate changes to the district's by-laws to reflect this decision which will be presented to and voted on by the membership in the near future.
